Wingmum Doula Care

Hi, I'm Ali 👋

I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive space for women and their families as they navigate birth and the postnatal period.

I’m passionate about supporting and nurturing women and their families through birth and the postnatal period—offering guidance without judgment.

I live on the Surrey/Sussex border with my husband and three Cocker Spaniels. I love fresh air, a good cup of tea, and Sunday roast dinners. I have two grown-up daughters, my second arriving nearly eight years after my first following unexplained infertility and IVF. Becoming a doula in 2023 was the fulfilment of a long-held dream.

My background is in finance and sports massage, but my passion for birth work started years ago when a neighbour asked me to be her birth partner—I’ve never looked back. I come from a large and ever-growing family: sister to 6, auntie to 17, great-auntie to 35, and great-great-auntie to nearly 20! Family has always been at the heart of my life.

I love travel, playing in the sunshine with my grandson, and pushing my limits in marathons and other wild sporting events—movement is good for the soul!

As a doula, I listen, stand beside women, and support them in making informed choices for themselves and their baby. I’m proud to be a peer supporter at Lemon Drops in Oxted, where we’ve helped over 100 mothers with infant feeding. I also work as a birth doula for a charity supporting asylum-seeking mothers, offering them a friendly face to be by their side for their birth. I have been privileged enough to witness many births with women from different cultures, languages and life stories.

I’m a fiercely positive, honest, and caring person—ready to support you every step of the way!

Postnatal Doula Support Package

Having experienced the challenges of early motherhood myself, I understand how vital extra support can be. As a “Wingmum,” I offer practical help and a compassionate presence for new mums—whether that’s holding the baby so you can rest, assisting with daily tasks, or simply being a listening ear.

Night Support Package

Rest is essential for your recovery after birth - physically and emotionally. I offer gentle, hands-on night support, caring for your baby while you sleep and assisting with feeds, changes, and settling throughout the night. Let’s talk about how I can help you feel more rested and supported.

Elective C-Section Support Package

For those planning a caesarean birth, my Elective C-Section Support Package offers calm, continuous care - from antenatal planning through to overnight postnatal support. I’ll be by your side before, during (if needed), and after birth to ensure you feel supported, informed, and never alone.

Pre / Post Natal Massage

In 2007 I qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist with London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) and worked from my home along with being a match day rugby physio.

After moving to West Sussex in 2010, I was unable to work from home so continued training to add on Pregnancy and Post Natal Massage in 2013 with Burrell Education. After a couple of years, I decided to take a break to focus on other work opportunities. Now qualifying as a Doula, I am extremely excited to be able to add this type of massage to my services.

Antenatal Massages can be carried out after 12 weeks pregnancy and anytime after birth.

Massages will be tailored to suit your requirements and will be carried out on a fully supported massage bed with cushions and pillows.

Upon request, I can provide a massage during the early stages of labour, to help you with any pains and tension as well as to get your oxytocin flowing.
